The Slice
What is it?
For the right handed golfer, a slice describes a shot that veers to the right of the intended path. That's what a slice is out on the course, as well as when you play online golf or computer golf.
The Slice hurts your game because the increased difficulty of your next shot will likely add strokes to your score.

What causes the slice?
Basically, the slice is caused by the club face being open, or rotated away from the golfer, when it impacts the ball.
Another cause has to do with the golfer's swing. A slice is likely to occur when the club head travels on an outside to inside path.
The opposite path, with the club head going inside to out, works best for good shot control.
When you play online golf or computer golf, these are concepts to keep in mind.
What to do.
1. Be sure that the club face is squared-up. That is, the club face needs to be perpendicular to the path you want the ball to take.
2. At impact, you want your golf ball to impact and launch from the center of the squared-up club face.
3. Your downswing needs to take the club head on an inside to outside path.
How to do it
Here are some common steps golfers take to avoid slicing the ball. Naturally it is a different story when you play online golf or computer golf.
-At the Tee...Use a tee to hold the ball up off the ground for a good clean shot.-At address... Your shoulders, hips and toes are in line with the path you want the ball to take.
-The club face is squared-up at address and again at impact.
-Match the position of your hands at address with their position at impact.
-When correcting a slice, try positioning your hands so that you can see 3 knuckles on your gloved hand at address.
-Keep your right elbow close to your hip as your down-swing nears impact.
-At address, imagine a ball placed 3 inches in front of your ball. Then make your swing travel so that you would hit both balls.
-At the end of your swing, "release" the club so that your left hand finishes below the right.
-Begin your downswing with your feet, knees, and hips. This keeps your back facing the target for as long as possible and allows your right elbow to stay close to your body.
-The inside to outside club head path starts your shot toward the right of your target. The ball is "drawn" back to the left due to the release of the clubhead. That is, rolling your gloved hand so that the back of it faces the ground.
These refer to real life golf, of course. When you play an online game , the slice is dealt with differently.
